Four days across all four CGEIT exam domains
The boot camp works straight through ISACA’s CGEIT exam content outline: four job-practice domains, each weighted as it is on the exam. You leave having covered every area the 150-question exam tests.
Governance of Enterprise IT
40%- The governance framework: structures, roles, culture, and aligning technology strategy with the business.
- Technology and information governance in practice: policies, decision rights, and oversight.
IT Resources
15%- Resource planning: people, skills, sourcing, and architecture to deliver the strategy.
- Resource optimization: getting measurable value from what the enterprise already has.
Benefits Realization
26%- Performance and oversight: measuring whether IT actually delivers what it promised.
- IT-enabled investments: business cases, portfolio management, and tracking value to the end.
Risk Optimization
19%- Risk strategy: appetite, tolerance, and governing technology risk at the enterprise level.
- Risk management: identifying, assessing, and responding to IT risk in business terms.
Domains and weightings follow ISACA’s official CGEIT exam content outline. The CGEIT exam is 150 questions in 4 hours, scored 200 to 800, with 450 to pass.
What the CGEIT certification does for you
Somebody has to answer for whether technology is worth what it costs. CGEIT certifies that you can.
CGEIT asks for five or more years of governance experience before ISACA will issue it, so it is not a credential you collect early. It reads as executive judgment, not just expertise.
CGEIT speaks the language boards care about: value, investment oversight, and whether technology delivers what the enterprise was promised.
Pass the exam and apply for certification to earn ISACA’s CGEIT credential and digital badge, verifiable and shareable on LinkedIn and your resume.
What you’ll be able to do
- Stand up and run a governance framework for enterprise IT
- Oversee IT-enabled investments and their business cases
- Measure whether technology delivers the value it promised
- Optimize IT resources against the enterprise strategy
- Govern technology risk at the executive level
- Advise boards and executives with authority

CGEIT boot camp, answered
What is CGEIT?
CGEIT is ISACA’s Certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT certification, the senior credential for professionals who govern how technology creates value for the enterprise. ISACA has issued it since 2007, and its five-year governance experience requirement makes it one of ISACA’s most selective certifications.
What roles does CGEIT prepare me for?
CGEIT validates executive-level governance judgment: IT director and VP roles, governance and strategy leads, board and executive advisory, and senior audit and risk positions with enterprise scope.
What are the requirements for CGEIT certification?
ISACA requires five or more years of experience managing, serving in an advisory or oversight role, or otherwise supporting the governance of the IT-related contribution to an enterprise. You can sit the exam first and apply once you meet the requirement.
How is the CGEIT boot camp structured?
Four full days of live, instructor-led training led by a certified ISACA instructor, working through all four CGEIT exam domains. You get a pre-study learning path, a 6-month subscription to ISACA’s official QAE database with unlimited practice exam attempts, and exam-strategy support so you walk in ready.
What does the CGEIT exam look like?
The CGEIT exam is 150 questions in 4 hours, scored on a 200 to 800 scale, with 450 required to pass. Your exam voucher is included, and after registering you have a scheduling window to sit the exam.
What if I don’t pass the CGEIT exam?
You can retake the exam at no additional cost. The whole program is built to get you exam-ready, and the free retake is there as a safety net.
Do I earn CPE for the CGEIT boot camp?
If you already hold ISACA or other professional credentials, the live instruction hours count as CPE toward them. It is a productive way to make progress on your annual CPE while preparing for a new certification.
Is there a self-paced CGEIT course?
No. ISACA does not publish an online review course for CGEIT, so there is no self-paced CGEIT training to sell you. The live boot camp is the route to CGEIT. If self-paced study is what you need, ISACA sells the CGEIT Review Manual and the Questions, Answers and Explanations database directly, and you can register for the exam yourself.
